RADIO STAR: THE ONE-HIT WONDERS MUSICAL

Tune in to WXYZ, a small-town radio station that’s one bad broadcast away from fading out forever. Their last hope? An exclusive interview with a chart-topping pop star that could be their ticket to the big time.
Featuring your favorite one-hit wonders like “Video Killed the Radio Star,” “Take On Me,” and “Come On Eileen,” this original jukebox musical is packed with laughs, jams, and loads of MTV-tinged nostalgia.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Performance dates March 21-30 at The Italian Club in Ybor City, Tampa.
Rehearsals begin in Tampa on February 9, 2025 and will run four times a week in the evenings.

AVAILABLE ROLES
EILEEN STROHM-BONES (F, late 30s/early 40s, any ethnicity)
The current owner of WXYZ - flighty, scatterbrained, and absolutely hilarious. A broken woman who copes through humor and a big heart. Big pop rock belt, strong comedy chops.
SAM (M, 50+, any ethnicity)
The friendly neighborhood mailman who goes out of the way to be nice - even at his own expense. Charming in a midwestern dad kind of way. Baritenor in one number, but will consider non-singing actors as well.
All roles paid a flat performance and rehearsal stipend.
At this time, we do not provide transportation or housing.

AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions will take place on Thursday, January 16 at 7pm
in the Fellowship Hall of Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church
(420 Bullard Parkway, Temple Terrace FL 33617)
Please prepare the following:
- For EILEEN, prepare the first verse and chorus of “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes. Accompaniment will be provided.
- For SAM, prepare the first verse and chorus of “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. Accompaniment will be provided.
- You will also be asked to read from the script and learn some light choreography.
Callbacks will take place on the same night.
